Bike, Walk or ATV

You can Bike, Walk or Ride Horse to Park- then only Foot Traffic on Park Trails!

The Map below is to show how to walk or bike to Burney Falls. PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) (Yellow) which goes thru the park is open for horses bikes and walking. Follow the Green Line down Clark Creek Road and watch to your right. The first road goes to Equestrian Center (Horse Coral). Remember, the park trails are only for foot traffic and its enforced. Can’t even walk your bike!

Off to the left is a road to Lorenz Road which is great for trail bikes and ATVs. Be sure you have maps, you can travel for days out into the forest. I found a road that follows Burney Creek to toward Burney. Beautiful small lake back in there. Watch out for ranch lands. Respect Private Land Signs.

Go across Lorenz to get to picture below. Watch out in wet weather.

Cross over Lorenz Road and drive parallel to Burney Greek.

Beyond the first road to the Right there is Parking Spot. Need to leave your bike here. Suggest locking it to a hidden tree. Lots of local traffic. From there you will see signs that lead you across PCT and down to lower part of the Falls. Beautiful hike. You will avoid the traffic and herds of people. If you follow the creek down, it ends at the Lake Britton. There is a trail out of the Gorge to upper Falls and a bridge that will loop you back to PCT and them back to your car or bike.

Further down on the right a second spot to pull off on the right. From there follow the signs to park. Bike are only allowed on the PCT and roads. Not on any trails. Nasty Rule. If you want to ride your bike into the park, you must use park entrance off of 89. Be real careful. Lots of Trucks and a narrow road. I walked my Bike most the way. Until someone dies, this is the only way. There are many dirt roads off of Lorenz Road that go deep into the forest. Great fun with an ATV.
